DIY Design Personalization is responsible for helping customers visualize their brand, style, and assets across VistaPrint's design offerings by tailoring their browsing experience with personalized designs curated to their needs. As part of this, we maintain services that create and persist a customer’s design data, a client-facing experience that enables users to provide that data, and a service that applies that data to designs offered in the VistaPrint browsing experience. We have team members based in the US and Spain, and we strive to promote a collaborative team culture.   What You Will Do As a Software Engineer on the Design Personalization team, you’ll be expected to collaborate with a hardworking engineering team in crafting and building highly available, scalable software and intuitive customer experiences. You will participate in multi-functional discussions with team members, product owners, and business partners while growing your skills every day by solving challenging problems with talented engineers. Responsibilities include: Work with the team to maintain and extend our APIs and experiences, enabling customers to see their information on personalized designs Help triage issues and debug production code Review and provide feedback on code written by other developers Work with our team to help translate front-end and API user requirements into new features Build out automation to deploy and test our code Collaborate with external teams and with other developers, including pair programming, design sessions, and documentation Recent projects our team has worked on include: Creating an experience that enables customers to provide their personal or small business information and visualize it on designs in the browsing experience Building a highly performant API that can persist customer information for re-use across the VistaPrint site for a more personalized experience   Your Qualifications At VistaPrint, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture.   • Work with the team to maintain and extend our APIs and experiences, enabling customers to see their information on personalized designs
  • Help triage issues and debug production code
  • Review and provide feedback on code written by other developers
  • Work with our team to help translate front-end and API user requirements into new features
  • Build out automation to deploy and test our code
  • Collaborate with external teams and with other developers, including pair programming, design sessions, and documentation
  • Demonstrates curiosity about the product, engages proactively in product discussions, and is willing to learn SVPG core principles to better understand customer needs and solution context.
  • Familiar with web development and related programming languages and concepts (JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS)
  • Familiar with functional programming
  • Familiar coding in an object-oriented programming language (C#, Java, or other similar languages)
  • Computer Science, related Engineering degree, or relevant experience
  • Database Expertise: Experience with Postgres or other SQL-based solutions and a solid understanding of database querying and optimization is a definite plus.
  • Modern Web Stack: We're looking for familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React and Typescript.
  • Cloud & API Knowledge: A background in API design and implementation and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure would be a valuable asset to our team.
