As a Software Engineer - Level 3 or Level 4 located in Dulles, VA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. You should have demonstrated experience in technical problem-solving including decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring. Software Engineers will be a critical member of one or more Agile Scrum Teams. After hours or extended work-week may be required. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Requirements

• Basic Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
• Familiarity with Agile programs
• Experience with the design, build, and deployment of software products
• Experience in producing software documentation
• Experience with Python application programming
• Basic Qualifications for Level 4: Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 4 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines and tools

Responsibilities

• Development of mission unique software layer services and applications.
• Applications will span languages and toolsets including bash, Python, C++, Postgres SQL, and STOL.
• Use static code analysis to identify shortfalls and plan remediation activities.
• Self-starter capable of taking initiative, making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind, and investigating/trouble-shooting software issues.
• Convert legacy python apps from python version 2 to 3.6 and re-architect where appropriate.
• Provide level of effort (LOE) estimates for identified activities and remediation efforts.
• Have strong communications skills to work with multi disciplined engineers to design and deliver re-architected existing applications and desired to be applications.
• Other duties as assigned
