Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
  • 0–2 years in software development, preferably in healthcare technology.
  • Python for AI/ML development and scripting.
  • Containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts.
  • REST API development or integration for AI services.
  • Modern frontend frameworks (Svelte or similar) for AI-driven interfaces.
  • Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Must get the AZ900 and AI900 certification within 180 days if not already certified
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Basic AI evaluation: accuracy, hallucination detection, performance metrics.
  • Software engineering principles and rapid skill learning.
  • LLMs and Generative AI concepts (prompt engineering, embeddings, model APIs).
  • RAG architectures and vector databases (Weaviate, Pinecone, etc.).
  • Model deployment frameworks (vLLM, Hugging Face, Ollama, etc.).
  • Passion for AI and emerging technologies.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-evolving field.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree is preferred
  • Cloud/on-prem AI infrastructure with GPU workloads (nice to have).

Responsibilities

  • Code Development: Write clean, maintainable code using Angular and .NET for healthcare applications, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle moderately complex coding issues, considering a variety of factors to come to a reasoned solution within established practices and guidelines.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Provide initial analyses and reports on software issues and participate in documentation creation for peer review.
  • Adaptability: Adapt and enhance existing software systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Learning and Growth: Actively learn from more complex examples and apply basic engineering principles to everyday coding challenges.
  • Professional Development: Continuously develop technical expertise and knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve various challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with both internal and external teams to address software issues and contribute to transactional procedures, ensuring cooperative problem resolution.
  • Design, develop, and integrate Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into the HAL platform, including chat interfaces, agent workflows, and AI-driven features.
  • Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines with document ingestion, embedding generation, vector database integration, and query optimization.
  • Develop, test, and refine prompts, system instructions, and evaluation frameworks to improve model accuracy, reliability, and user experience.
  • Deploy and manage open-source and proprietary LLMs (e.g., via vLLM, Ollama), optimizing for performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Utilize Docker and container-based workflows to package, deploy, and scale AI services across environments.
  • Implement logging, tracing, and performance monitoring for AI systems, including token usage, latency, and model behavior analysis.
  • Contribute to modern web interfaces (e.g., Svelte) for intuitive AI interaction, including chat, skills, and agent-based workflows.
  • Work with structured and unstructured data sources for AI use cases, including preprocessing, transformation, and ingestion into vector stores or knowledge bases.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with internal governance, security standards, and responsible AI practices, including data privacy and model risk considerations.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI/ML, LLMs, and developer tooling, contributing ideas to evolve the HAL platform.
  • Collaborate with the Talent team to actively engage in the hiring and recruitment process, including but not limited to participating in interviews.
  • Leverage industry networks and expertise to identify and attract top talent that aligns with the company's objectives and values.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within your department and across diverse functions.
  • Play an integral role in shaping and reinforcing the overall company culture, promoting values that enhance teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Must be available for on-call duty during peak periods, providing support outside of regular working hours as needed to ensure the timely resolution of critical issues.
