Join the AWS Graviton Software team as a Software Engineer focused on system performance. You will enhance the performance of the Graviton processor and help decide the features of future Graviton generations. Your role involves developing software for performance analysis and building services and improving performance of open source software and helping customers with their Graviton migration. This position offers exposure to diverse technologies including hypervisor, firmware, operating systems, cloud services, machine learning, databases, and visualization tools. While expertise in all these areas isn't required at the start, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experts as you help build innovative cloud services that advance AWS Graviton's performance. Key job responsibilities As a Graviton Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute on a variety of different projects: Develop services to analyze Graviton's hardware and software performance Build automated systems for data collection and analysis Implement ML-based pattern detection in data Design and maintain systems to collect and analyze data Create intuitive visualization dashboards Develop performance analysis software for hardware and software Build automated systems for processor, OS, and workload performance monitoring Use performance tools (sysstat, sysctl, perf, APerf) to resolve software bottlenecks Apply and expand your expertise in system design and data analysis This role provides opportunity to work with multiple programming languages including C/C++, ARM Assembly, Python ...etc. You don't need expertise in all these areas - you'll learn from experienced team members. you'll have opportunities to contribute to the community. About the team Annapurna Labs, part of AWS, created Graviton as a strategic ARM-based CPU initiative to revolutionize cloud computing at Amazon scale. Graviton instances deliver superior performance, cost efficiency, and reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional x86 solutions. The Graviton Software organization drives customer and internal team migrations to Graviton by optimizing and stabilizing software ecosystems, contributing to open source projects (including Linux kernel, operating systems, compilers, libraries, and ML frameworks), developing automated services, and maintaining public documentation. Our work enables AWS customers and Amazon teams to leverage Graviton's advantages in performance, cost, stability, and energy efficiency.

  • Develop services to analyze Graviton's hardware and software performance

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
