Our team is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong, critical quality-focused mindset and Python backend expertise to drive our work with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. In this role, you'll apply rigorous quality principles while designing and implementing core backend services and pipelines that seamlessly integrate with enterprise systems and LLM technology. You'll support our mission by bringing a meticulous approach to applying groundbreaking research in this rapidly evolving space. Your quality-first engineering perspective will ensure we build robust, reliable systems that meet the highest standards. By contributing your critical thinking and attention to detail, you'll significantly influence our developer productivity tools and shape the evolution of our AI platforms. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with a relentless focus on quality assurance, testing methodologies, and systematic validation-ensuring our innovative solutions are not just powerful, but exceptionally dependable. Our team builds frameworks, services, and tools that accelerate Feature development for engineering teams. In this role, you'll apply your quality engineering expertise to enable workflows with particular focus on ensuring the reliability and accuracy of LLM-based generation. Your meticulous approach to quality will be essential as you integrate our platform with various enterprise services and establish validation frameworks that maintain Apple's exacting standards. You'll be part of a team whose focus is on bringing a quality-first perspective to deliver an end-to-end solution. Your rigorous testing methodologies and quality-focused mindset will help ensure we build not just innovative tools, but dependable systems that our engineering teams can trust day after day

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience.
  • Experience in designing and implementing information retrieval systems using embeddings (e.g., MiniLM), vector stores (e.g., Milvus, Qdrant), or similarity match u0026 ranking techniques.
  • Designed and optimized RESTful services.
  • Comfort within Linux/Unix environments.
  • Understanding of software engineering practices (agile, code review, automated builds, regressions testing).
  • Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of building enterprise-grade ML pipelines (data prep, distributed training, optimization, monitoring) in cloud environments.
  • Collaborative mindset to brainstorm on architectural patterns to arrive at the best approach. Keen interest in keeping up with the latest in the industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in technical leadership/mentorship in ML or software engineering experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with large language model frameworks for evaluating and fine-tuning models.
  • Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform is a plus.
