About The Position

Software Engineer–Test & Verification (Associate, Mid Level, Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer - Test & Verification (Associate, Mid Level or Senior) to join the Phantom Works Weapons Software team located in Saint Charles, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. Join a collaborative engineering organization where you’ll work closely with software developers, systems engineers, cross-functional stakeholders, and support teams to release production-ready code for state-of-the-art weapons systems. In this role you will be able to make an immediate impact on systems where reliability and safety are mission-critical, work in a fast-paced Agile environment and shape and improve test strategy, automation, and verification for cutting-edge defense software. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment
  • 2 years of experience of C/C++ development experience
  • 2 years of experience using software testing frameworks such as GoogleTest
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2 years of experience in CI/CD and automation in a DevSecOps environment
  • Level 2: 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes.
  • Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems.
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems.
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality.
  • Knowledge of implementation of software test frameworks, tools and simulations.
  • Knowledge of internal and external software test frameworks, architectures, best practices and application in industry.
  • Knowledge of software practices (e.g., configuration control, change management, problem reporting, software design, peer review, testing, and T&E specific practices), programming languages, operating systems and computing technology applicable to laboratory and flight test systems, including real-time, non-real-time, network-centric, monitoring and control applications.
  • Knowledge of test program design (e.g., design of experiments, test plan development, validation).

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
  • Designs test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
  • Sets up and configures test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
  • Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
  • Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Creates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards.
  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
