About The Position

Software Engineer Technical Lead (On Site) Are you interested in creating mission critical software to support our warfighter? Requirements

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field and/or equivalent years of experience + 10 years experience.
  • Is a U.S. Citizen and able to complete a U.S. government background investigation in order to obtain a security clearance.
  • Actively programs with one or more of the following languages: C#, Java, Kotlin.
  • Is able to engage with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients.
  • Manages time well and can prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed on time.

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience with AFCEC or within the AFCEC problem set.
  • Have proven experience building Windows platform desktop and client/server applications using C#, WPF, and SQL.
  • Have proven experience building Android applications using Java or Kotlin.
  • Can build robust, scalable, event-driven, backends that are service-based or use structures such as microservices using containerization (Docker).
  • Have any experience with Android Tactical Assault Kit development (TAK, ATAK, WinTAK).
  • Are proficient with source control software like TFS, Git, or Bitbucket.
  • Have experience developing web applications using front end frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, Vue.js, Angular, and/or jQuery.
  • Have used Software Development Lifecycle tool suites like Azure DevOps or Atlassian.
  • Have examples of code we can check out, like GitHub or SourceForge repositories, any applications you’ve built, pet projects, or submissions to hackathons and/or game jams.
  • Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the DS2 on-site presence at the Air Force Civil Engineering Center at Tyndall AFB.
  • Lead teams involved in work with Software Engineering, sUAS, robotics, and EOD missions.
  • Work directly with government customers and industry partners for the good of the R&D mission at AFCEC.
  • Conduct research for, report on, and create proof-of-concepts and prototypes for R&D projects.
  • Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating applications.
  • Be a part of an agile team that works together to organize, manage, and complete their work on products.
  • Work with your team to test, develop, peer review, and continuously integrate changes into the code base.
  • Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible.
  • Build Windows platform desktop and client/server applications using C#, WPF, and SQL.
  • Build distributed mission-critical applications using microservices deployed via containers.
