About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer (SWE3) to support a fast-evolving, data-driven engineering effort focused on designing, developing, and integrating scalable software solutions. In this role, you will work as both a software engineer and data integrator, contributing to platforms that analyze large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and fellow engineers to integrate advanced analytics and AI/ML-driven technologies into production systems. This position is ideal for engineers who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy working across the full software lifecycle, and want their work to directly influence real-world outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong production software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, and/or Apache NiFi .
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git .
  • Comfort working from the command line in UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications in multi-node, networked environments .
  • Experience working with large-scale data processing and search/analytics platforms such as Elasticsearch or Splunk .
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline and 12+ years of relevant professional experience OR 16+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes .
  • Experience with configuration management or automation tools such as Ansible .
  • Experience working in cloud-based hosting environments, such as AWS .
  • Experience with data visualization or presentation tools such as Kibana .
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins .
  • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Experience programming or scripting in Lua .

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software solutions.
  • Monitor deployed software systems and implement updates and enhancements as needed.
  • Augment existing platforms with new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Perform peer code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Elicit and refine technical and functional requirements from stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including documentation required for compliance and governance processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data pipelines, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Support deployment and sustainment of software in distributed, multi-node environments.
