About The Position

Amentum is seeing a Software Engineer Intern supporting the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) for a 10-week summer program. Position Summary The SFRC Summer Intern will support the daily operations, projects, and strategic initiatives of the SFRC team. This role provides hands‑on experience in a professional environment where the intern will assist with research, data collection, administrative tasks, field or technical support (depending on program needs), and coordination of departmental activities. The intern will gain exposure to organizational procedures, teamwork, and real‑world problem‑solving.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program as a sophomore or above (or a recent graduate within the last year).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a team environment.
  • Interest in SFRC‑related fields (administration, research, operations, fieldwork, or technical disciplines).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data entry, research methods, or project coordination.
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge relevant to the SFRC’s focus area (e.g., operations, field services, research, conservation, engineering—depending on the organization).

Responsibilities

  • Requirements & Implementation: Develop requirements and work with Stargate developers to deploy a new Lab Systems Reservations capability within the Stargate Application.
  • Utilization Reports: Work with Stargate developers to develop Lab Utilization Metric Reports.
  • Transition Data: Assist Stargate developers in transitioning lab schedule data from old Lab Scheduler tool to Stargate.
  • Documentation: Create user manuals or training aids for the new Stargate process. Document lesson learned.
  • Training & Support: Train engineering staff and managers on the effective use of new scheduling tools and lessons learned.
