As a Software Engineer Sr., within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA or Cleveland OH. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. You will be part of the Directory Services Engineering team. This role focuses on engineering and supporting Oracle Unified Directory solutions within a large-scale enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will bring senior-level technical expertise, strong problem solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across diverse technical teams. Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Writes code, tests and deploys software. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software. Maintains and debugs software. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) solutions.
  • Perform lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning for directory services platforms.
  • Develop automation scripts using bash/shell (or similar scripting languages) to enhance operational efficiency, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
  • Build repeatable, automated processes for deployment, configuration, and validation.
  • Manage and optimize Linux-based environments that support OUD infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues, performance bottlenecks, and service interruptions.
  • Work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure reliable directory service integration.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, operational support, and on-call participation as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security standards, audit requirements, and compliance policies.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, engineering standards, and operational runbooks.
