THE WORK LM's Space Engineering & Technology, S2CO, Global Software Solutions Team develops, delivers, and operates affordable engineering and sustainment solutions for commercial, military and intelligence users across the globe. These mission critical efforts include development of innovative enterprise, cloud and application-based solutions for mission management, command and control, collection orchestration and tasking, processing, data analysis and analytics along with premier operations and sustainment capabilities of space- based programs in support of national security. We are seeking a SW Engineer to participate in the design, development, test and maintenance of complex mission application software and database applications for the Paragon organization which supports multiple programs within National Security Space (NSS). As Software Engineer with Paragon, you will: Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, information processing techniques, and information gathered from subject matter experts and system users to develop software applications. Plan, conduct, and coordinates software development activities. Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Participate in code peer reviews, application demonstrations, data analysis, test planning and execution to ensure software intent and standards are met. Prepare operating instructions, generate program development documentation, & analyze system capabilities. Participate in failure investigations, anomaly resolution activities, and retrospective events This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates typically require 3+ years of experience and a BS degree. Requirements

  • Experience working as part of an Agile software development team that followed Kanban, Scrum, or SAFe practices
  • Experience developing backend application software using C/C++ or Java on a Linux platform
  • Experience designing, testing and debugging complex software applications with many interdependencies and interfaces
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge of space ground software systems (e.g. mission planning and scheduling or command and telemetry systems)
  • Experience using software development tools Experience using software development tools and methodologies (Jira, Git, Jenkins, Confluence, Collaborator, automated testing)
  • Experience on large scale software development programs
  • Experience with cost estimation based on high level requirements and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
