As a Software Engineer Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. Seeking a Skilled Cloud Engineer to Join Our Team We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Engineer with strong Python experience to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cloud technologies, automation, and software development, along with a proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions. Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Writes code, tests and deploys software. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software. Maintains and debugs software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and application development.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Listed below are skills, competencies, work experience, education, and required certifications/licensures needed to be successful in this position.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Candidates being considered for this position will be subject to additional background checks as established by the specific government client contract.
  • This position is subject to the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDIA) and, for any registered role, the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and/or the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which prohibit the hiring of individuals with certain criminal history.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on major platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to optimize workflows and system operations.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and scaling of applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and security of cloud environments.
  • Document architecture, processes, and best practices for cloud solutions.
