As a Software Engineer Senior within PNC's Lending Technology - Payments organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH, or Birmingham, AL. A Senior Software Engineer joins a product aligned engineering team to design, build, test, and support modern software solutions. They partner closely with product owners, QE, architects, business stakeholders, and peer engineers to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure applications that support critical banking functions. The role blends hands on coding, system design, technical leadership, and end to end ownership, from ideation through production support. They help mentor junior developers, drive engineering excellence, ensure code quality, and contribute to process and tooling improvements. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.

Requirements

Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
Certifications are often desired.
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
Writes code, tests and deploys software.
Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
Maintains and debugs software.
