The Role: The Software Engineer is a hands‑on, full‑stack contributor responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and integrations that enable critical business operations. This role works across backend, frontend, and integration layers, delivering high‑quality solutions while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical execution, effective problem‑solving skills, and the ability to operate successfully within a large‑scale enterprise environment that requires adherence to security, governance, and compliance standards. The role includes partial ownership of technical solutions and active participation in design and architectural discussions. The Software Engineer will develop and maintain Java‑based customizations and extensions within TeamConnect, as well as design, build, and support integrations with internal and external enterprise systems. This role contributes directly to the reliable operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of applications and integrations in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Requirements

  • Java & Integration Development Hands-on experience with Java-based application development, including TeamConnect customization.
  • Strong experience building Spring / Spring Boot microservices.
  • Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Configuration, Support & Collaboration Experience configuring SaaS platforms (workflows, rules, templates, security).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex functional and technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical business users.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • TeamConnect & Legal Operations Strong experience supporting TeamConnect (Mitratech) in a legal or corporate legal environment.
  • Solid understanding of legal matter management, legal billing, outside counsel management, and accrual processes.
  • Programming: Java, Spring Boot, Java Spring, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, UI/UX Principles
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with architects, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and leading technical initiatives.
  • Data & Databases: Database Integration, Relational & NoSQL Databases (DocumentDB, MongoDB)
  • Proven success working with cross‑functional teams (Legal, Finance, IT) and external vendors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex functional and technical issues across applications, integrations, and data layers.
  • Experience • 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • AI & Intelligent Automation Exposure to contributing to the design and implementation of AI‑enabled features, such as intelligent workflows, data insights, or decision‑support capabilities.
  • Experience integrating applications with AI/ML or Generative AI services (e.g., model APIs, inference services) to improve automation, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Familiarity with developing or supporting data pipelines for AI use cases, including data preparation, validation, and monitoring.
  • Understanding of MLOps concepts and AI pipeline orchestration, including deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of AI‑enabled components.
  • Awareness of responsible AI practices, including alignment with security, governance, privacy, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based applications, customizations, and extensions within TeamConnect and related enterprise platforms.
  • Build, support, and enhance integrations between TeamConnect and external enterprise systems using RESTful APIs, messaging, and event‑driven patterns.
  • Develop and maintain backend services and microservices using Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
  • Create and enhance frontend components using React JS, ensuring usability, performance, and alignment with UI/UX best practices.
  • Write and optimize SQL Server queries and stored procedures to support application functionality, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Support event‑driven integrations using Kafka, including producer/consumer implementations and message processing.
