As a Software Engineer within PNC's Data Products organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, or Birmingham, AL. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. As a Software Engineer Sr, you will be part of an engineering team where you will be responsible for technical design and development within our Data Products organization. In this role, you will work with our testers to address bugs or defects and propose & design solutions.

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Hadoop and Python.
  • Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various banking systems.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and senior engineers to deliver secure and compliant data solutions.
  • Assist in the integration of structured and unstructured data sources into the bank's data lake.
  • Support data quality, lineage, and governance initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Document technical processes and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
  • Strong foundation in Python programming and SQL.
  • Basic understanding of Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Spark).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, GLBA).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to banking data types (e.g., transactions, customer profiles, risk metrics).
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
