The Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Kubernetes Guru). We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals that focuses on healthy culture, transparent leadership, and complex technical challenges. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. The position is located in Boulder, CO – Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver. Due to the nature of our work, full-time in-person work is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline for Software Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of related work experience for Principal Software Engineer.
  • Kubernetes/K3s Linux experience.
  • C++ and Python proficiency.
  • Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
  • Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Containerization tool experience (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker products, Podman, etc).
  • Configuration Management Tools (Git etc.).
  • CI/CD experience (Jenkins etc.).
  • Agile development exposure.
  • C++ templating.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and debug software applications.
  • Research, identify, and implement solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.
