As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Technology - Data Products organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL, or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. As a Software Engineer Principal you will play a crucial role in shaping how data is used to create innovative and valuable data products for Lines of Businesses (Retail Lending, Retail Deposits, Wholesale and Wealth Management) and for Enterprise Technology.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • University / college degree or a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service).

Responsibilities

  • Refine our strategy for creating, deploying, and improving data products, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall strategic goals.
  • Define/refine the data product lifecycle (Initiation / Discovery through Deploy and Maintain lifecycle stages) playbook with key deliverables, standards, frameworks relevant across the process.
  • Establish and manage processes for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing data product initiatives based on potential business impact, technical feasibility, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Act as an advocate for data products and the underlying data platform, promoting their value and increasing usage across different business units within the bank.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies (like AI and advanced analytics), and best practices in data strategy and product management within financial services.
