About The Position

At Prophet, you’ll start your career in a fast-moving startup environment, surrounded by experienced engineers who will mentor you and help you grow. You will work in our Menlo Park office side-by-side with teammates (we believe early career engineers learn fastest this way). You will ship code that reaches real customers within your first few weeks, explore exciting projects across backend systems, AI/ML, and security integrations, and get a front-row seat to see how an early-stage company achieves product-market fit.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong coding skills in languages like Python or Go, demonstrated through coursework or internships.
• Solid CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems basics).
• A deep curiosity about AI/ML and building intelligent systems (prior professional AI/ML experience is not required).
• A problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, and an eagerness to learn in-person.

Nice To Haves

• Passion for AI demonstrated through personal projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions involving LLMs.
• Prior internship experience in a software engineering role.
• An interest in the cybersecurity space.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend services in Python and Go.
• Design and improve APIs and data pipelines that are the foundation of our product.
• Experiment with and implement solutions using LLMs.
• Help integrate third-party security tools into our platform to expand our capabilities.
• Collaborate directly with teammates and customers to solve real-world security problems.
