Join a team working to tailor Google Navigation SDKs for one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the world, Ridesharing, On-Demand and Last-mile deliveries. We focus on building scalable API and SDK products to improve the navigation and ridesharing/deliveries experience around the world. We have a suite of interesting problems we are solving as we think about improving navigation experience as well as end-to-end mapping in the ridesharing space from the driver to rider experience. We get to leverage the newest Google Maps innovations and bring them to a great set of enterprise customers. The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Java programming language, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year experience with iOS Software Development Kit.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Empower third-party developers to supercharge their apps through Google APIs.
  • Work with customers to get their input and to develop vertically-oriented Software Development Kits (SDKs).
  • Work closely with the cross-functional team of Engineers, UX, Technical Solutions Engineer, Developer Relations, Product Managers supporting the Maps API products.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
