About The Position

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. The DevEx Performance team delivers tools and libraries that help Android developers build efficient & scalable apps and libraries. We help make every Android app faster - launch, scroll, and every user interaction. On this team, you'll frequently interact with the R8, Android Gradle Plugin, and Platform Performance teams, Jetpack Library authors (especially Compose), Android Studio Profilers, Perfetto, and Android Developer Relations. We also work closely with UX Research to ensure our performance solutions are approachable by a wide range of developers. Requirements

• Experience in software engineering with a focus on mobile technologies.
• Strong understanding of Android development and performance optimization.
• Ability to work on full-stack projects.
• Versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems.

• Experience with information retrieval and distributed computing.
• Familiarity with large-scale system design and networking.
