Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic leader to join our Embedded Software Talent Center software leadership for the SDA Portfolio of projects, with a specific initial focus on SDA Tranche 2 Transport Beta program. This role will be accountable for the technical, cost, and schedule aspects of software development. This role is anticipated to be a leader that will drive lead product line execution, solidify SW Factory methodologies, promote integration and lead execution across SSPL and SMC software product teams. This leader must energize the team to bring efficiency to the solutions, engaging the workforce and driving talent development.

  • Advocate for continuous process improvement; establish department-wide processes and rhythms, then ensure that they are followed across multiple product teams
  • Lead software program management, including planning and managing multiple simultaneous schedules; prioritizing across multiple projects; identifying and managing technical, cost, and schedule risks
  • Bring a systems thinking mindset in order to successfully drive software to software integration, including supporting integration & test plan development. Support and empower teams to perform subsystem and system level integration effectively.
  • Work alongside world class technical experts and leaders to deliver software solutions that save lives, advance technology, and explore the universe.
  • Work with SSPL, SMC and other program stakeholders to coordinate the flow of Programmatic / Project Lead information
  • Work with Embedded Talent Center leadership to drive the programmatic strategy and vision of the organization
  • Be a leader in the areas of talent attraction and retention, performance management, training, employee development, mentoring, and coaching
  • Manage staffing across the team of Project Leads, inclusive of support to multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Previous management or technical leadership/lead experience; including managing tasks, schedule, and budget
  • Experience with software development processes and life cycles
  • Experience with Agile methods, processes and practices
  • Software Control Account Management experience
  • Previous embedded software management or technical leadership experience
  • Previous experience performing software to software, and/or software to hardware integration
  • Previous experience performing System level integration (Vehicle, Payload, Ground)
  • Previous Embedded Flight Software development experience
