As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. With your technical expertise, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hardware development or automated fleet management.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the hardware development teams whose work will power the next chapters of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) at Google.
  • Manage the qualification framework that ensures the new machines work with the control plane software that manages the fleet.
  • Work with partner teams to ensure that new machine types are onboarded to our qualification framework.
  • Identify areas where the process or the tooling supporting this can be improved.
  • Troubleshoot new machine types that do not always work the way you expect.
  • Leverage technical skills, communication, and a sense of ownership to drive business impact in this role.
