Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Software Engineer (Low Observable) – Intern. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of the IR software code base, create and run automated test and validation suites. The successful candidate will have experience and/or proficiency in C++ programming language, experience with scientific/engineering data formats and numerical libraries, understand of software testing and validation practices. Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computational Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience and/or knowledge programming with C/C++, Java, Fortran, Matlab, or Python
  • Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Experience in infrared (IR) signature, IR cameras/sensors, radar cross section (RCS), or radio-frequency (RF) antenna design
  • Expertise in LO modeling and predictions: Computational electromagnetics (CEM), Hybrid Finite Element, Boundary Integral method (FE-BI), Method of Moments (MoM), HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, FDTD, EO/IR
  • Knowledge of RADAR, RF materials, RF material measurements
  • CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing
