The Waymo Logs Storage team owns the infrastructure for storing driven and simulated data of Waymo cars. In this Hybrid role you will report to the Tech Lead Manager.

Requirements

4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
4+ years of experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
4+ years of experience with C++.
Proven track record of driving collaboration effectively across organizational boundaries.
Strong ability to document technical designs, processes, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience building large scale storage systems.
3+ years of experience building dataset management infrastructure.
Track record of successfully executing forward looking ambitious bets.
Track record of high coding productivity

Responsibilities

Brainstorm, design and build new storage infrastructure features, in alignment with Waymo business priorities.
Build and leverage relationships with partner teams to deliver solutions spanning organizational boundaries.
Understand and improve the behavior of production systems, including instrumentation, bug fixes, provisioning, and reliability improvements.
Improve the automation, code health, technical debt and simplify the system.
Provide support for partners and clients.
Responsible for overall storage cost. This includes tooling required for data curation, plus defining and implementing storage cost control policies spanning multiple Waymo teams.
