The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program is looking for its next enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment developing highly specialized simulation software that ensures the integrity and accuracy of the THAAD system, a cutting-edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats. The candidate must be proficient in software design, development and maintenance. The candidate must be able to interact well with peers, leadership, and cross-functional teams. They must also possess the ability to support technical discussions.

  • Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging simulation software that provides the real-time environment for lab simulations.
  • Support the unit & system level qualification of real-time simulation software while applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Analyze the performance of the simulation software while supporting Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab activities.
  • Proficiency in or capability of learning programming languages such as C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
  • Familiar in Linux operating system and Command Line Interface in a user capacity.
  • Familiar with real-time design patterns.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with the missile defense sector.
  • Familiarity with working in a classified environment.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience working with other testing/validation environments, such as National Instruments LabVIEW.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with our test, lab operations, and system integration/requirements organizations.
  • Experience building, using, and maintaining data analysis tools.
  • Experience in 3D graphics, Sikuli, SimDis, and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with networking and system administration.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and/or software testing frameworks.
  • Willing to act as an analyst along with being a software engineer.
