About The Position

This position is for a Software Engineer Staff as a technical lead for the U-2 Sustainment and Modernization within the historic Skunk Works Organization. The U-2 ATR team is a diverse set of hardware and software engineers working to design, develop, prototype, and integrate cutting edge technologies. The team embodies the true Skunk Works spirit, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent improvements and testing. The candidate is expected to lead a team of software engineers, providing technical direction in the development of high-performance C++ applications for modern cockpit interfaces. Strong software development skills and the ability to diagnose and explain complex problems will make the selected candidate successful in this role. As a lead software engineer, your deep understanding of software design and system architecture will enable you to lead technical discussions, prototype new features, and communicate these concepts with program management. You’ll contribute to software solutions with an eye toward commonality and reusability to reduce long-term costs and maximize value across platforms. You will participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design to implementation, testing, hardware integration, through sustainment. You’ll be immersed in state‑of‑the‑art research, translating hardware‑software concepts into working prototypes, seeing them through rigorous testing and flight trials, and delivering them as operational, field‑able assets.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in B.S. Computer Science, B.S Computer Engineering or B.S. Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with C/C++ programming languages
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux development environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD concepts
  • Experience with graphics and/or GUI development
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
