About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineer Lead to guide our growing software development team through strategic planning, technical execution, and day-to-day operations. This newly created role blends hands-on software expertise with leadership and supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned developer with a passion for mentoring, process improvement, and driving programmatic success across multiple projects. As the Software Engineer Lead, you will serve as the technical and operational anchor for the team-ensuring high-quality code delivery, fostering collaboration, and aligning development efforts with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Minimum Secret clearance is required to start.
  • Must have TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, maintains, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions.
  • Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
