About The Position

As a Cloud Engineer Lead, you will be working as a DevOps Engineer within FIS Digital to help build and maintain the D1C commercial banking platform running in AWS. This team owns the infrastructure lifecycle of the product, provides on-call support, handles connectivity to customers, and creates automation for maintenance or other processes that help to ensure the D1C product is available and secure. The D1C DevOps team will work closely with the Digital Platform team which manages the broader AWS ecosystem to ensure the AWS ecosystem fits the needs of the product and with D1C Operations, Product Development, and Security to deliver a reliable and well-maintained product. You will be responsible for the day-to-day infrastructure operations in AWS that ensure the D1C product is available. You will be expected to improve upon and automate these processes using CI/CD and the appropriate language. You will build self-service workflows, create runbooks and generally reduce manual toil for all of these processes. This is a hands-on engineering role that will regularly cross boundaries between infrastructure, networking, and security tooling to support D1C.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of experience building and operating infrastructure in AWS (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, R53, Cloudwatch)
  • Strong Terraform experience, including building / managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
  • Experience managing network connectivity via AWS Site-to-Site VPNs, Direct Connect and on-prem firewall coordination (specifically Fortigate)
  • Comfortable in an on-call rotation and ability to triage production incidents across infra, networking, and application layers
  • System administration experience across RHEL and Windows servers including Ansible or equivalent configuration management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with container deployment and management in EKS or other Kubernetes platforms
  • Familiarity with ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, GitHub Actions
  • Background working in financial services or other regulated industries

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure provisioning / decommissioning via Terraform
  • Maintaining Network connectivity to customers via AWS Site-to-Site VPNs and Fortigates installed in customer locations
  • Automating BAU maintenance activities such as patching or certificate rotations
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for L3 triage support for production issues
