About the role:
We are looking for an experienced COBOL/Tandem programmer to join the PHASE3 team.
As a Software Engineer Lead – Tandem Mainframe COBOL, you will be responsible for
Develop core versions of software applications for sale to external clients.
Identify client purchasing requirements and technical specifications through Product Management and/or client representatives.
Interacts with engineering groups to assist in design changes to equipment and/or software.
Train and communicate with clients on systems applications.
About the team:
The Position is in FIS Securities Processing (Phase3) Product. Phase3 is a real-time order-to-settlement securities processing system used by broker/dealers and correspondent clearings firms.
What you will be doing:
Work on enhancement and Support projects for the Product.
Support FIS solutions and ensure the quality and utilization of FIS products satisfy client needs.
Recreate, document client issues, and troubleshoot problems to support product quality.

Requirements

• Strong understanding and solid work experience on COBOL, TACL, Guardian procedure calls
• Strong understanding and solid work experience on Nonstop Pathway, SQL/MP, Tandem Utilities
• Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills with working experience on the above skill set
• Able to take the initiative and work independently or in a team.
• Experience in documenting SOPs to support daily operations.
• Domain expertise in Fintech, especially around Brokerage and Clearance
• Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.
• Attention to detail – track record of authoring high-quality documentation.
• Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.
• Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Nice to have experience in C, C++, SQL/MX, and NonStop OSS environments.
