Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required. Or bachelor’s degree required with 10 years’ experience in software development.
  • At least 3 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire is required. Or at least 2 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire required and having attained the 'GW Certified Professional' certification.
  • Experience in Java, GOSU, XML, Insurance Vertical Experience, SQL Server, a modern code repository (i.e. BitBucket, GitHub, etc.).
  • Competent communication skills, including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management and product owners.
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend insurance-related topics and relate that knowledge to the development process.
  • Possess the ability to work efficiently during core business hours while effectively managing time.

Nice To Haves

  • Guidewire ClaimCenter experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the ClaimCenter/Contact Manager Configuration team.
  • Responsible for designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining designated software applications.
  • Gather, document, understand, and articulate functional, non-functional, and business requirements that are already defined.
  • Perform unit, regression, and integrations testing for application changes to ensure high quality.
  • Track and monitor production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Research and troubleshoot issues across different functional teams in order to rectify system problems in a timely manner.
  • Communicate status updates with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Becomes familiar with Alfa’s interconnected technology framework and systems in order to understand impact of software changes.
