As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology - Data Products organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining ontologies, knowledge graphs, and semantic models (e.g., using OWL, RDF, RDFS, SHACL)
  • Proficiency with ontology engineering tools (e.g., Protégé, TopQuadrant) and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, JanusGraph, RDF stores like Virtuoso or GraphDB)
  • Proven experience in designing and developing logical and conceptual data models for large-scale enterprise systems, particularly within complex environments
  • Strong familiarity with common financial data domains (e.g., customer, accounts, products, transactions) and the complexities associated with them

Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce standards, guidelines, and conventions for ontology and data modeling
  • Harmonize data models across domains and existing data repositories
  • Collaborate with lines of business to mature existing domain ontologies that align with the broader enterprise metamodel
  • Keep the organization up-to-date with industry developments and W3C standards (e.g., RDF, OWL) related to ontologies, semantics, and data modeling
