As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Lending Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL. As a Software Engineer Lead, you will be part of an Agile engineering team where you will be responsible for technical design and development within our Lending Technology line of business. Additionally, you will work with our testers to address bugs or defects and propose & design solutions. Due to the nature of the position, we are seeking candidates passionate in Software Engineering with experience such as: - Architectural guidance and leading the design and development of scalable web applications using Angular for front-end and Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks) for back-end services. - Deep understanding of OOP principles, collections, generics, multithreading, and concurrency. - Designing and implementing distributed systems using RESTful APIs, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and service discovery. - Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across front-end and back-end technologies. Requirements

  • Architectural guidance and leading the design and development of scalable web applications using Angular for front-end and Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks) for back-end services.
  • Deep understanding of OOP principles, collections, generics, multithreading, and concurrency.
  • Designing and implementing distributed systems using RESTful APIs, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and service discovery.
  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
  • Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
