About The Position
As a Software Engineer IV within RealPage’s Integrated Front Office, you will serve as a senior technical contributor working on complex, high-impact systems that support large-scale, mission-critical workflows. This role emphasizes Python-based backend services, SOAP and API integrations, event-driven architectures using Kafka, and React-based user interfaces, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with Python in production systems.
- Hands-on experience with SOAP services and enterprise integrations.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.
- Experience designing or working with Kafka or event-driven systems.
- Experience with React or modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and enterprise application design.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in SaaS or multi-tenant enterprise systems.
- Background in high-reliability or regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Backend Engineering: Design and develop backend services using Python to support high-volume, enterprise workloads.
- Systems Integration: Build and maintain SOAP-based integrations and modern APIs across internal and external systems.
- Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement event-based workflows using Kafka and messaging platforms.
- Frontend Development: Contribute to React-based front-end applications as needed.
- Database Engineering: Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and data access patterns.
- Technical Leadership: Lead design discussions, mentor engineers, and provide guidance on complex technical problems.
- Operational Excellence: Diagnose and resolve production issues, contributing to incident response and long-term fixes.
- Engineering Standards: Help evolve coding standards, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
