We are looking for an iOS Engineer to work with us as we build this next generation of experiences. As a Native Post Purchase team member, you will work on bringing delightful PayPal Post Purchase experiences to the PayPal mobile apps. This includes developing new features with rapid experimentation while ensuring we maintain a high quality of the experiences we ship. You will be responsible for designing and developing these features in collaboration with design, product, and analytics.
Requirements
- 3-4+ years of experience building iOS applications using Swift or Objective-C
- Solid knowledge of algorithms with good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Expertise in iOS UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Understanding of XCode
- Experience with animation, and implementing user interface designs
- Skilled at writing Unit and Automation tests
- Knowledge of iOS application architecture
- Knowledge of multi-threaded, asynchronous code
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to backend services
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
- 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Solid understanding of Cocoa Frameworks
- Experience in finance, e-commerce, or logistics.
- Experience with Android development
Responsibilities
- Contribute to native iOS app development by converting ideas, designs, and requirements into concrete, stable production builds
- Provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements
- Enforce clean code and excellent coding practices by conducting thoughtful code reviews
- Work with product, project, and engineering teams to deliver products on schedule that solve customer problems
- Collaborate with Engineering and QA to resolve bugs
- Develop and communicates technical processes, standards, and best practices to the team
- Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
- Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
- Understands internal standards & processes an applies them to make technical decisions
- Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
- May contribute to code & design reviews
