Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people’s lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM). As a Back-End Engineering Intern, you will help build and improve platform capabilities and engineering tools that support both on‑premises and cloud environments. Projects may include implementing data retrieval pipelines, enhancing CI/CD automation, strengthening monitoring and logging, and developing environment support tooling that accelerates incident resolution. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to design, implement, test, and document reliable services and workflows, gaining exposure to real production systems and best practices. This role offers hands-on experience with the technologies and processes that keep modern platforms healthy, scalable, and secure. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Engineering.

  • Assist in enhancing critical engineering tools like PSOTool, including adding functionality for on-demand SQL/Cassandra queries and enabling task resubmission to CLM queues
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers on code reviews, design documentation, and production system best practices
  • Participate actively in the team’s Agile sprint cadence, including planning, development, testing, and demonstrating progress
  • Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Will be graduating from bachelors program by December 2026 or June 2027
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tooling
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative software development workflows
  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Foundational understanding of back-end development concepts (services, APIs, data flows)
  • Understanding of log management, metrics, and monitoring fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear communication
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and iterate quickly
