About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional and dynamic student for a Software Engineering Intern position in Research & Development. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. In this position, you will help develop software solutions for the configuration of power system electronic devices using a variety of technologies old and new. As a Software Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Supporting SEL’s software development process. Verifying that software meets requirements. Implementing firmware/software design. Providing support to engineering staff as needed. Following engineering quality assurance procedures. This job might be for you if: You are a current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed. You have programming experience in C#, C++, Java or equivalent OO programming language. You are able to execute and document defined testing procedures. You are proficient in MS Windows. You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. You are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. You are able to work cooperatively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using scripting languages, such as Python, Javascript Practical knowledge of developing Microsoft Windows applications. Knowledge of SQL and database concepts. Experience using revision control and source code management systems such as Git, Mercurial, and SVN. Location Information This position is located in Pullman, WA. Pay Range Data $24.25 - 30.00 per hour Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Requirements
