Lockheed Martin's Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a fulltime Software Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to the system design of complex combat management capability threads as part of the Future Combat Systems team. You will learn to use a model-based systems engineering approach to define requirements, performance, and functional allocation of software components. You will also be working on the design, development, and test of containerized software applications in a microservice based architecture. The intern will help to test the software in a Kubernetes environment. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge in developing software using Java and/or Python. Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field.
  • Academic and/or Professional experience with design and development of software using JAVA and/or Python.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and/or DevSecOps environment.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience with tools like Jira, Git, BitBucket, GitLab and/or Confluence.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience with Python and/or Junit.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with software containers, Kubernetes, and/or microservice development.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.

Responsibilities
