Software Engineer (Infrastructure)
About The Position
We’re not rockstars or ninjas, just a team of developers working to make life a little easier for doctors and their patients. Our platform, built on a Ruby on Rails API with AngularJS and React front-end, helps our client’s practices manage appointments, track drug inventory, send reminders, and handle insurance claims. We deploy on AWS and are continuing to scale. We're looking for a Software Engineer (Infrastructure Focus) to help us grow and strengthen our infrastructure, streamline our development processes, and support our engineering team. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities that will keep the work engaging and provide continuous opportunities to grow and develop your skills.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer (Infrastructure), Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or a similar role
- Programming, scripting, and automation experience (e.g., Python, Ruby, Bash, Go)
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Cloud infrastructure, AWS preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Please note: candidates applying for this position must reside within 1-hour driving distance of our Austin, TX office.
Nice To Haves
- Experience With Linux systems (Debian)
- Writing MySQL queries
- Deploying Node/Yarn, Ruby/Rails
- Monitoring tools like Datadog and Rollbar
Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain our CI/CD pipelines
- Develop and improve infrastructure automation
- Monitor and manage our AWS-based cloud infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and debug production systems
- Work closely with product and application engineers to support infrastructure needs and deployment patterns
