This position is for an experienced Software Engineer in Test with a strong background in automation and a deep understanding of complex Linux-based architectures with a focus on IT security. This role requires proven expertise in developing and executing automated test tools and improving overall test coverage as well as a deep understanding of computer networking concepts.

  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to achieving project and organizational goals with minimal supervision on routine tasks.
  • Apply extensive professional experience and judgment to resolve moderately to highly complex technical issues.
  • Increase test automation coverage and refine existing tests to ensure efficient and effective quality assurance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced automated test scripts and programs for backend Linux systems.
  • Systematically debug software products and maintain quality standards by conducting thorough, reliable tests.
  • Document test results comprehensively and assist development engineers with the debugging process.
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and feedback on software architecture and system design.
  • Must be able to obtain a US-government-issued secret security clearance.
  • A university degree and 5–10 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with automation testing using Linux shell, Python, or Bash scripting.
  • Proven ability to debug complex issues within a Linux environment.
  • Direct experience with lab-based security assessments.
  • Proficiency with test case management systems, specifically Zephyr Scale within the JIRA ecosystem.
