About the position

The Engineering Development Group (EDG) at MathWorks is a technical and leadership development program designed for individuals interested in creating high-quality software. Participants will receive extensive training, mentoring, and coaching, allowing them to transition into various teams within the Software Engineering in Test organization based on their skills and interests. The program emphasizes the development of software engineering skills, including automated testing and test strategy design, while working on impactful projects in diverse areas such as Cloud Computing, Code Generation, and Data Visualization.

Responsibilities

• Select projects and teams based on personal interests and skills.
• Develop strong coding and problem-solving skills by contributing to high-impact technical projects.
• Gain customer perspective and product knowledge by addressing complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with top engineers and scientists to enhance product tools.
• Participate in extensive learning opportunities through training and mentorship.
• Transition to a permanent team within the Software Engineering in Test organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a strong academic record.
• 3 years of professional work experience, or a master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming skills in one or more Object Oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, JavaScript, MATLAB).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in software testing or testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, JSON, jQuery, Dojo, SOAP, REST).
• Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, or Big Data.
