About The Position

As a Software Engineer at Design Group, you will join a team that challenges you and positions you for growth. You will work with industry experts to help leading companies solve their most difficult problems, specifically within the Control System Integration Practice. Your role will involve developing Ignition and Sepasoft applications, creating and maintaining OEE systems, and managing multiple system development projects. You will engage with client stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to lead or assist in onsite system startup, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of designed systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of system integration, SCADA, and industrial software development experience.
  • A deep understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and operational workflows.
  • Proficiency in Ignition Perspective development is mandatory.
  • Experience with the Sepasoft MES platform is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing back-end computing infrastructure, including hardware, virtualization, operating systems, networking, and databases.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project-related activities.
  • Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Ignition and Sepasoft applications, including databases, database interfaces, data handling & reporting, scripting (Python), and REST API development, with a primary focus on OEE applications.
  • Create, configure, and maintain OEE systems using Ignition software, including scripting and integration with diverse data sources and PLCs.
  • Utilize Ignition Perspective to craft intuitive dashboards, reports, and analytics tools for real-time monitoring of OEE metrics and KPIs.
  • Design and implement robust data acquisition strategies to capture real-time data from machinery, sensors, and production lines.
  • Effectively manage multiple system development projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budgets.
  • Engage with client stakeholders to comprehend scopes of work, deliverables, and project expectations.
  • Collaborate independently or within a team of engineers, including participation in large-scale projects.
  • Lead or assist in onsite system startup, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of designed systems.
