About The Position

As a Software Engineer III , you'll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. This position is responsible to work as a fronted software engineer focusing on multi platform mobile applications primarily using React Native and associated tech stack. About Team: Sam's Tech Member Desk The Sam's Tech Member Desk engineering team is responsible for building and managing applications and services running at the member services desk across all of US Sam's clubs. This includes apps to handle membership signups/renewals/upgrades, process returns and purchase items at the member services desk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Front-End Engineer with a focus on iOS mobile applications using React Native.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript ES6+ , TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React Native, and related frameworks/libraries such as Redux(with Thunk or Saga), React hooks and function components, Immer, Axios, Formik, React Spring, and Storybook
  • Solid understanding of mobile app development principles, including responsive design, performance optimization, and mobile-specific considerations.
  • Understanding of native iOS and Android integrations with React Native
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and/or Graph QL to integrate with backend services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with code versioning tools, specifically Git
  • Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools like Quantum Metrics, Grafana Azure App Insights etc
  • Familiarity with Gen AI developer productivity tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, Github Copilot etc
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to develop high-quality multi-platform mobile applications using React Native.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for front end components, ensuring performance and scalability.
  • Work closely with the design team to implement pixel-perfect UI/UX designs and ensure a consistent user experience across all devices.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues related to the front end of the application.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in mobile application development and bring innovative ideas to the team.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize feature requirements and deliver high-quality solutions on time.
