About The Position

We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer-III, you will be part of Catalog Engineering team and will be responsible for developing high performance and scalable Catalog Service that meet the needs of millions of Walmart customers. Design and develop integrations with next generation downstream application that is built largely on an event driven platform implemented via a micro-service architecture. We are looking to bring more intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about technology in general. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. What you'll do: Develop highly scalable services and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology and enhance Walmart Catalog and Partner experience solutions Show your chops as an exceptional and technically strong developer. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information and engaging support teams to resolve issues Perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues and ensure compliance with Walmart code of conduct Work in an Agile environment, adhering to best practices and collaborating with teams to deliver results Stay up-to-date with the latest GenAI trends and technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that improve the Seller and supplier experience on our Catalog platform. Requirements

Experience with Java and building Java-based backend systems.
Building and implementing microservices and applications using Spring Boot and reactive frameworks like Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor (Mono and Flux)
Experience in internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g. Solr, Kafka, Mem Cache, etc.)
Strong understanding of J2EE components, multithreading, and networking.
Extensive knowledge of offline storage, caching, and performance tuning.
Experience with cloud-based solutions and hands-on experience with CICD development environments/tools, including Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
Strong understanding of CS Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Problem Solving.
Familiarity with GenAI best practices, such as:
Using AI-powered code analysis tools to improve code quality and maintainability
Implementing AI-driven testing frameworks to ensure robust testing and validation
Leveraging AI-based performance monitoring and optimization tools to improve system efficiency.
Designing AI-enabled data pipelines to streamline data processing and analysis.
Experience with NoSQL Databases like Cosmos DB, Cassandra and ability to design and implement scalable data models.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native development, and microservices architecture.
Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous monitoring.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
