Job Description: This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns. Individual contributor needed to work on Project Pacific Conversion and Consumer Card Conversion. Must be able to support future deconversions or divestitures supporting AIT 7627 External Conversions application which supports both Conversions and Deconversions designed to seamlessly move large Cobrand credit card portfolios and high volumes sensitive customer data either onto or off the BAC Credit Card Platform in close coordination with another financial institution as part of contractual sales agreement. Coding requirements listed below.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years SAS (recent) coding experience on Mainframe IBM z/OS System.
  • Ability to read, write, debug, and optimize SAS code, to process, manage and analyze large-scale datasets for summary reporting purposes, and data conversion validation.
  • Knowledge of SAS BASE, MACROS, PROCS, SAS SORT. Familiar writing SQL code within SAS steps.
  • Proficiency on Mainframe TSO / ISPF, JCL and SDSF.
  • Ability to write Mainframe JCL (Job Control Language) to execute step by step instructions as per technical requirements. E.G. Job cards, PDS concatenations, data sorts, output DCB information.
  • Ability to use SDSF to navigate the operating system.
  • Ability to read COBOL file layouts with understandings of picture clauses and packed data. Using this to extract mainframe-native sources like sequential datasets and create SAS datasets to transform and analyze large datasets directly on the mainframe.
  • Experience with developing code using Artificial Intelligence
  • Strong independent leadership skills to meet project aggressive project deadlines.
  • Experience with credit card technology strongly desired
  • Assertive individual with the ability to execute with limited direction
  • Ability to identify and engage key stakeholders to facilitate and drive progress and resolution
  • Excel in time management and simultaneously manage multiple yet unrelated events
  • Capability to distill complex information from various sources to formulate a strategic plan of execution

Responsibilities

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
