SRC is searching for a well-rounded Computer Engineer to support our DoD customer located at NIWC Pacific in San Diego, CA. Possessing a specialized skillset including a deep understanding of secure communication protocols and encryption standards relevant to military applications Defining, specifying, and designing complex communication systems, often participating in system design reviews and ensuring adherence to open architecture principles Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance commensurate with program requirements is essential FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD #LI-SF1

Requirements

  • Master's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science
  • 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
  • Ability to research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and software programs
  • Ability to apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications
  • Ability to develop algorithms, analyze, and solve programming problems
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, and Java
  • The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are analytical skills
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • U.S. Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level with Top Secret / SCI Eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tactical waveforms and their implementation within software defined radio (SDR) systems is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with DoD testing and evaluation (T&E) processes, including the development of test plans, procedures, and data analysis techniques, is essential.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition regulations, specifically those pertaining to software development and data rights, is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to General Purpose Processors (GPP), Digital Signal Processors (DSP), and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) is highly desirable
  • Skilled in analyzing software specifications, designs, and implementations, ensuring the development of high-quality, portable, and reusable software components
  • Administrative, communication, leadership, short-term planning, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Defining, specifying, and designing complex communication systems, often participating in system design reviews and ensuring adherence to open architecture principles
  • Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance commensurate with program requirements is essential
