About The Position

Role summary: We are looking a skilled Software Engineer III Java Developer to join our team within the Health & Wellness division, focusing on Central Fill projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust Java-based solutions to optimize operations at Central Fill facilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and efficient solutions that align with organizational goals and compliance standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical healthcare initiatives and make a meaningful impact in streamlining processes within Central Fill operations. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and Walmart Health and Wellness business to better serve customers by empowering team members, pharmacies, and clinics with technological innovation. From pharmacies and clinics, to mobile features, Walmart Health and Wellness offers an extensive selection that our customers and patients value, whether they meet with their clinicians online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. This team operates within the Health & Wellness division, focusing on Central Fill projects. It is dedicated to designing and developing tailored solutions for Central Fill facilities, ensuring efficient and effective operations. The team collaborates closely with product management and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality software components. Emphasizing iterative development and continuous improvement, the group applies strong technical expertise in areas such as platform design, API development, and generative artificial intelligence. The team supports end-to-end project delivery, from discovery through implementation, maintaining a commitment to reliability and innovation in healthcare technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and Java development within complex software environments.
  • Hands on experience Java, Kafka, Cosmos, SQL.
  • Strong technical acumen in platform design, API development, and component services.
  • Experience with iterative and incremental development methodologies and continuous integration/delivery practices.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Skilled in writing clear, documentation-based code and performing comprehensive unit and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, telemetry implementation, and automation scripting.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate cross-functionally and guide small engineering teams effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain Java applications, ensuring efficient and effective implementation within Central Fill facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance solutions focused on Central Fill projects within the Health & Wellness area.
  • Drive the development of innovative strategies to optimize operations and streamline processes in Central Fill facilities.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of project development, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and address business needs, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze existing workflows and systems, proposing improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
