About the team: The Merchant Technology Cost Platform team develops scalable, reliable software solutions aligned with Walmart’s platform objectives. Collaborating across functions, the team delivers features, APIs, and AI/ML components through iterative development and continuous integration. Members apply strong technical expertise in coding, debugging, and design while promoting knowledge sharing and technical ownership. The team emphasizes proactive problem-solving to enhance system performance and customer satisfaction. Focused on efficiency and long-term impact, the group ensures high-quality outcomes that support Walmart’s evolving technology platform and business goals.

Requirements

Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C.
Strong experience in platform design, API development, and component services within agile environments.
Ability to analyze and translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automation scripting, and telemetry implementation.
Skilled in debugging, defect management, and root cause analysis to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and adherence to quality, safety, and security standards.
Demonstrated capability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver scoped features incrementally with technical acumen.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

Analyze and scope business and technical requirements to support agile development processes.
Develop, configure, and maintain software components ensuring scalability, availability, and maintainability.
Write clean, minimalistic code following coding standards and best practices across multiple languages and platforms.
Build automation scripts to streamline continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
Implement telemetry and security features to meet compliance and performance standards.
Create and execute test cases to identify defects and ensure software quality.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize system reliability.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives and technical needs.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
