About The Position

What you'll do... Position: Software Engineer III Job Location: 10900 NE 4th Street, Floor 8, Bellevue, WA 98004 Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of software engineering plans; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing software solutions to address the needs. Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, modules, and simple requirements. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire software components and applications and ensure the software components meet business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and software development standards and tools. Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the components and modules. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the components and modules and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past software engineering solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for software applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the software application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze software application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and analysis. Evaluate software change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area. Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API Web Services using Java. Experience developing and maintaining applications in Microservice architecture using IntelliJ with Spring Boot frameworks. Experience using Apache Kafka and integrating with Microservices to enhance business logic. Experience developing and configuring CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy applications using Jenkins and GitLab. Experience creating scripts and processes for migration of business data using Spring Batch. Experience persisting and maintaining business data in SQL (Azure SQL and Oracle) and NoSQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB and Elasticsearch). Experience writing unit tests using JUnit and Mockito frameworks to ensure code quality. Experience using GIT for source code management and tracking changes in code. Experience working with building automation tools including Maven and Gradle for project build and dependency management. Experience following best practices for code development using design patterns including Singleton, Factory design pattern, and DAO pattern. Experience creating and deploying applications in Docker containers using Kubernetes on Cloud platforms. Experience utilizing application monitoring tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Elastic Search stack to collect crash analytics and logging data. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and UX design teams to understand feature specs and how it fits into OKRs and success metrics using Figma. Experience participating in UX mock sessions with Product teams to understand the feature functionality before implementation phase. Experience actively participating in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives and backlog grooming to align technical tasks with product priorities. Experience coordinating project leads to translating high-level feature requirements into actionable engineering tasks and ensure timely sprint delivery. Experience using project management tools including Jira, and Confluence to track deliverables, document technical decisions, and communicate status updates to cross-functional teams. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $149,240/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
