About The Position

Software Engineer III specializing in backend engineering with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Kafka. Builds scalable microservices, designs reliable data pipelines, and develops high-performance distributed systems. What you'll do: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, SpringBoot, PostgreSQL, and Kafka Develop and enhance microservices that power Walmart’s Tempo PRISM Content Management platform Build reliable APIs, event-driven workflows, and distributed systems to support content orchestration management Design and develop agents for agentic workflows to automate decision-making content operations Collaborate with product managers, engineers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across high-traffic applications and services, database design, performance improvements in PostgreSQL Troubleshoot production issues, improve observability, and ensure operational excellence for critical platform services Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices What you'll bring: You bring strong backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Kafka, along with a solid foundation in microservices, API development, and distributed systems. You are skilled at building scalable, reliable services and have a passion for solving complex technical problems. Experience with AI-assisted platforms, automation, or developing agents for agentic workflows is a strong plus. Requirements

  • strong backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Kafka, along with a solid foundation in microservices, API development, and distributed systems
  • skilled at building scalable, reliable services and have a passion for solving complex technical problems
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
