About The Position

What you'll do... Position: Software Engineer III Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030 Duties: Prepare requirement traceability matrices and maintain traceability among business requirements, functional requirements, and design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component, module, and simple requirements. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire applications and ensure the components are meeting business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, and low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and development standards and tools for software coding and configurations. Build scripts for the automation of repetitive and routine tasks in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and testing. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to application during code development and configurations. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component or module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines. Track and analyze defects for the component or module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past projects and solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the applications. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the applications by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, and performance data and provide analysis. Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
  • Experience building scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications under microservice architecture using Java.
  • Experience building backend applications using Spring framework core features.
  • Experience developing and running unit tests and integration tests with JUnit or Mockito tools.
  • Experience developing systems with containerizing technologies using Docker.
  • Experience managing containers in cloud environments using Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and GraphQL APIs using Spring WebFlux.
  • Experience implementing systems using Java 8 features.
  • Experience monitoring system metrics using Grafana or Splunk tools.
  • Experience building extendable code using Object Oriented Principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience managing software project's build, testing, and versioning using Maven or Git.
  • Experience implementing software systems using the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process or Agile methodology.
  • Experience testing REST APIs and GraphQL APIs using Postman.
